The most powerful road car on show was the Bugatti EB 16.4 Veyron that will be built at a new facility in Molsheim that is located in the Alsace region of France. Bugatti is owned by VW. This awesome 746.4 kW (1001 hp) machine is reputed to cost in the region of $US1.175 million each. The massively powerful W16, 64 valve, 8-liter engine is coupled to a four-wheel-drive system and twin-clutch seven-speed transaxle. Sources indicate the Veyron will be capable of reaching (252 mph in seventh. First customer deliveries are now expected at the end of 2004.
