2010 Kia Soul and 2011 Sorento recalled
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a recall on two Kia vehicles – the 2010 Soul and 2011 Sorento – to replace interior lighting wiring harnesses. These faulty units, supplied by JCI, can apparently cause an electrical short resulting in a fire. This recall affects 35,185 vehicles manufactured between September 7, 2009 and July 30, 2010. Ferrari 458 Italia fires investigated for sponteneous combustion
There is a lot of hype over the investigation into 1993-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee models over it catching fire, but only when rear-ended due its rear-mounted fuel tank. Only 44 cases have been reported among the 2.3 million sold. In contrast, the Ferrari 458 Italia has been on sale for only a few months now, and maybe 200 are estimated to be on the streets so far. And 10 have already gone up in flames, one even while sitting in a warehouse doing nothing. Continue reading »

GM recalling 243,000 crossovers for seat-belt issue
