Ford Racing supercharger for 2011 Mustang GT
Ford Racing, a division of Ford that occasionally offers factory racing parts and cars for purchase by the general U.S. public, has announced an all-new 2.3L twin-screw supercharger for the 2011 Ford Mustang GT that will make it more powerful than the Shelby GT500.
Available for the first time to the public, the Ford Racing supercharger bumps up the power to 624 hp at 6,900 rpm and 536 lb-ft at 4,700 rpm when mated to the all-new 5.0L V8 engine.
The supercharger is available in three levels including a 525 hp kit with a 12-month/12,000-mile warranty, a 624 hp kit, and a tuner kit for racing and extreme enthusiasts.
The kits add 47 lbs to the weight of the car. The kits range in cost from $6,499 for black and $8,099 for polished chrome.
