IIHS low-speed bumper crash tests reveal expensive figures

Bumpers are the first line of defense against costly damage in everyday low-speed crashes. Bumpers on cars are designed to match up with each other in collisions, but a long-standing gap in federal regulations exempts SUVs from the same rules. New Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests demonstrate the results: SUV bumpers that don’t line up with those on cars can lead to huge repair bills in what should be minor collisions in stop-and-go traffic. 2011 Audi RS 3 unlikely to come to U.S.

In the great tradition of the brand, its engine boasts five cylinders and turbocharging technology. Saab to used BMW-Mini engines from 2012

Saab and BMW announced an agreement for the supply of engines to be
used in next-generation Saab vehicles. Under the purchase, supply and development
agreement, BMW will supply Saab with 4-cylinder 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engines
from 2012. The engines will be adapted to meet Saab’s specific requirements.
The contract was signed on Wednesday in Trollhättan, Sweden. Participating in the signing
were Saab Automobile CEO Jan Åke Jonsson, Saab Automobile Chairman Victor Muller and
Ian Robertson, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, responsible for Sales and
