Bio-gass Audi A4 does 227.9 mph top speed
A top speed of 227.9 mph would be an amazing record for a four-door sedan like the Audi A4, but in this case it is truly astonishing because this Audi A4 runs on bio-gas.
According to the German Auto Motor und Sport magazine, Jürgen Hohenester has apparently made his way to the Guinness Book Of World Records, proving that natural gas can be as good, if not better, as the petrol.
In fact, Hohenester’s bio-gas Audi is so powerful they had to deliberately limit it at 700 hp to stop it from ripping apart the transmission and other component. Without the limiter, they managed to extract 800 hp out of the Audi’s 3.0L V6. Of course, they used the equivalent of 120-140 RON octane gas for the feat.
This is not the first time that Hohenester tried to break the speed record for gas-powered cars. In 2008 he had prepared another Audi A4 with 585 hp, shown below, but that car only managed 204 mph.
