The Veritas RS III Roadster has begun its limited production run and first customer deliveries will take place in January 2010. Built by Vermot AG, this cockroach of a car has already been sold to eight customers, but none from the Middle East yet. The eight are part of only 30 that will be produced. It takes 15 people about eight weeks to build one car and three cars at a time will be built.

Constructed of a lightweight carbon-fiber body the RS III Roadster features a tubular frame structure, ceramic brakes, a sports suspension as well as 325/25 rear and 255/30 Dunlop front tires. The curb weight is a mere 2,381 lbs. Vermot has had the car extensively tested on Nurburgring’s Nordschleife and says it will give drivers a sense of a real race car. For the more cautious buyer there are safety nets such as ESP and ABS brakes.

Power comes from BMW’s naturally aspirated 5.0L V10 which makes 507 hp at 7,750 rpm. Its standard gearbox is a 7-speed SMG transmission but a 6-speed manual is available as an option. The 0-60 mph run takes less than 3.1 seconds while the top speed is 216 mph.
