2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R revealed in Goodwood
Mercedes-Benz released the AMG GT R recently at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It is lighter and more powerful than the AMG GT S.
Under the hood, the 4.0-liter V8 biturbo produces 577 BHP and 516 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to the same 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission but reworked for better acceleration. It does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and hits a top speed of 198 mph.
The weight of the AMG GT R is 90 kg lighter than the AMG GT S. The exterior gets a more aggressive body kit which includes a new front grille, front bumper and rear spoiler. The interior too gets upgrades such as Nappa leather upholstery. The body colour is a special mango green.
The 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R is set to go on sale in mid-2017.

I am not sure I like the emblem so big on the front of the grill. I guess it is a status symbol.
