Subaru is now offering the 2011 Impreza WRX STI in two different body styles. In addition to the existing hatchback, the 2010 New York Auto Show played host to the revival of the Subaru Impreza WRX STI sedan, complete with a massive rear wing.

New for the STI models this year are an improved suspension consisting of stiffer bushings, stiffer springs, and thicker anti-roll bars. The 2011 STI also sports less unsprung weight than the 2010 model due to lighter 18-inch wheels that are a combined 17.6 pounds less heavy. While power is unchanged, at 305 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque, high-speed stability of the sedan is greatly improved, as is at the limit handling, by that 14-inch wing.

Since the sedan is marginally lighter than the hatchback, and features two mufflers with four pipes as opposed to the hatchback’s one giant muffler with four pipes. Subaru claims that while this has no bearing on horsepower or torque, it makes the car sound, “Meaner and louder.”
