2011 Hyundai Elantra officially revealed

Hyundai’s impressive run of successes is set to continue with the official launch of the Elantra compact sedan. Already revealed in Korea as the Avante, the Elantra sedan is a complete departure from the outgoing model, and is the most futuristically-styled compact car on the market now, taking over the mantle from the formerly ground-breaking Honda Civic.

The standard engine for the 2011 Hyundai Elantra is a 148 hp 1.8L 4-cylinder with 131 lb-ft of torque, apparently capable of 28 mpg city and 40 mpg highway. No other details are available at the moment.

  1. This looks a bit like the Hyundai i40 that is soon to be revealed in Europe.

Hyundai are teasing their way into the European D-segment market under the radar. This looks pretty cool and I can see it giving the Mondeo a run for its money especially if it is priced right. Recently stumble on this youtube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwqKy07OhXI) about the reveal.

Apparently, users can connect through Facebook to directly participate in the live light reveal. You can create your own personal light reveal via a live video feed. The official site for the launch is http://www.hyundai-i40.eu/

Really looking forward to seeing this at the Geneva Motor Show.By the way great site. Very informative
