The 2005 New York International Auto Show, running from March 25 to April 3, is the largest show yet at the Big Apple. This year's round of debuts focused on performance as numerous manufacturers rolled out high-performance versions of their standard models. Chrysler extended its SRT performance brand with hopped-up versions of the Grand Cherokee and Charger. Ford's SVT division showed off supercharged Shelby Mustang, and Cadillac countered with a supercharged XLR V-Series roadster. Chevrolet unleashed SS versions of the Trailblazer and Malibu, and Hyundai came out with a new luxury sedan called the Azera. Lexus finally debuted the IS350, while Mitsubishi and Mazda updated their Evo 9 and turbo 6 respectively. Euro entries include the Mercedes R-Class and Range Rover Sport.
